Privacy Policy

Overview

Ramses Works ("we", "us", or "our") builds apps that respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information across our apps — RevSense, LANtern, and Applowance — and this website. Each app also has its own detailed privacy policy, linked below, which takes precedence for that app.

Information We Collect

We collect as little data as possible. Specifically:

  • Applowance: Family data (member names, chores, balances, and screen-time sessions) syncs between your family's devices through Google Firebase, which we operate. Parents sign in with Apple; children join with a family invite code and need no email or password. The apps you choose to block never leave your device. In build 48 and later, Applowance sends limited first-party usage and reliability reports only during consented parent sessions. Older beta builds through 47 used Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics and could collect child-session reports or upload queued reports later. Details: applowance.app/privacy.
  • LANtern: Your credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device, and LANtern connects directly to your own controllers and accessories, locally or remotely. Credentials are sent to your controller when needed to sign in. To answer you, your messages, the relevant device details, and any photos you attach are sent from your device to Anthropic. We do not routinely store your network or smart-home inventory, but an in-app report you choose to submit may include a redacted AI response excerpt and device, host, or room names. Anonymous analytics, crash reports, and performance data are off by default and sent only if you opt in; submitted reports are kept for up to 90 days. Diagnostic reports are saved on your iPhone; making an individual saved report available to Siri and Search is opt-in and revocable. Siri can still read your screen when you ask it to. If you use voice input when on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple may process your audio for transcription. Details: getlantern.ai/privacy.
  • RevSense: Trip, GPS route, OBD-II telemetry, vehicle, garage, and driving-analysis data is stored on your device, and raw high-rate telemetry never leaves it unless you export it. Opt-in AI features send compact trip summaries and your chat messages to Anthropic, and a car photo to Google Gemini to create your car avatar. Opt-in road context sends a simplified route to OpenStreetMap-based services. Car-show and track-day discovery uses Google Gemini with Google Search. A city or ZIP you type is sent as text; searches using your location require a separate opt-in, off by default, and send coordinates rounded to about 11 km. Event venue lookups through Apple MapKit use the same rounded area. Enabled event alerts use your saved approximate home area; turning off event-search location sharing stops future location-based searches and alert checks. The co-driver receives compact event summaries from Google, without event-search coordinates being sent to Anthropic. Drive playlists use Apple Music with your permission; optional online song matching sends limited song metadata to Anthropic only after a separate opt-in. If you enable iCloud sync, processed drive records, app settings and vehicle records sync to your private iCloud; raw telemetry, ownership-ledger entries and car photos do not.   • This website: If you use our contact form, we store your email address, the topic you choose, and your message, with your email encrypted at rest, so we can reply. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA.

Data Storage

Our Google Cloud and Firebase services store data used for app features and support, including Applowance family records and usage reports, RevSense notification tokens and opt-in road-context cache traces, reports you choose to submit, and contact-form messages. RevSense does not store complete drives in our backend, and LANtern does not keep a routine copy of your network inventory.

Third-Party Services

Our apps may use the following third-party services:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud: Sign-in, sync, push notifications, and backend functions for Applowance; app verification, proxied AI requests, crash reporting, notifications, and opt-in road context for RevSense; API-key delivery, optional diagnostics, and submitted reports for LANtern; and hosting for this website.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI): For natural language processing in LANtern and RevSense.
  • Google Gemini and Google Search: For RevSense's opt-in car avatar and event discovery, with separate consent for location-based event searches.
  • Apple FamilyControls: For app blocking in Applowance.
  • Apple Maps, WeatherKit, iCloud, and Apple Music: For maps, weather, route handoff to navigation apps, optional sync and drive playlists in RevSense.
  • Apple Speech: For optional LANtern voice input; Apple may process audio remotely when on-device recognition is unavailable.
  • Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight: For LANtern's checks, saved-report discovery when you opt in, and screen context when you ask Siri to read it.
  • OpenStreetMap-based services: For opt-in road context in RevSense.

Children's Privacy

Applowance is designed for family use. Parents add children, or children join with a family invite code; no email or password is needed. Applowance stores a child's name, chore and screen-time records, and device identifiers to run the app. See applowance.app/privacy for full details, including COPPA.

Analytics

We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your data. Diagnostics differ by product: In Applowance build 48 and later, limited first-party usage and reliability reports are sent only during consented parent sessions; older beta builds used Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics and could collect child-session reports or upload queued reports later. LANtern's Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring are off until you opt in; RevSense uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports. This website uses no analytics.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
